I want to apologize to all my readers. Obviously WordPress considered my dcraw advertisement links a violation of their TOS and shut down my blog without noticing me…
So maybe I’ll find another way for you to support opensource projects or you have to donate for yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience.

RawTherapee wird open source!
Vorhin habe ich die freudige Nachricht gelesen, dass RawTherapee, der meiner Meinung nach beste RAW Converter für Linux und Windows, bald unter GPL stehen wird. Danke an Gabor, danke auch an das Entwicklerteam.
Ich hoffe, dass die Entwicklung dadurch einen immensen Schub bekommen wird und die Software zu dem Standard Tool für RAW Bilder wird, was einst Firefox auf dem Browsermarkt geworden ist.

- Decode all packed 10-bit and 12-bit formats in one function.
- Support the Casio Z60, Casio Z75, Kodak Z980, and Pentax K-7.
- Support the Olympus X200,D560Z,C350Z with or without JPEG files.
- Copied color matrices from Adobe DNG Converter 5.4.

Update: Due to licensing issues I won’t offer the cywin1.dll on my page so you have to download the dll yourself from here:
http://cygwin.com/snapshots/, take any dll, rename it to cygwin1.dll and use it as before.

Libre Graphics Meeting 2009
Wie schon die letzten Jahre, steht wieder das LGM an, eine Entwickler- und Benutzerkonferenz, auf der sich Entwickler und Nutzer der prominentesten Open Source Grafikprogramme treffen, GIMP, Krita, Inkscape, Blender, Scribus und noch weitere. Da die Entwickler in ihrer Freizeit an diesen Projekten arbeiten und somit daran nichts verdienen, bitten die Organisatoren um Spenden, die die Anreisekosten decken.
Dazu wurde, wie schon letztes Jahr, eine Pledgie Seite eingerichtet, dort kann man auf einfachsten Weg seinen Teil beitragen kann. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn dies viele meiner Leser, die Open Source Grafikprogramme einsetzen, tun, seien es 5, 10 oder 15$, jeder Betrag ist willkommen und wird dringend benötigt.

Like the last years, 2009 will feature the LGM, a developer and user conference of the biggest open source graphic programs like, GIMP, Krita, Inkscape, Blender, Scribus and many others.
As those developers work on those projects in their sparetime and don’t earn much by doing so if at all, the organisation is asking for donations to support travel costs.
Therefore a pledgie page was set up, to offer an easy way to donate money. I’d be happy if my readers would donate to this cause when using any open source graphic programs. 5, 10, 15$ or more are very appreciated.
